Automotive Testing Solutions

DEWETRON is your reliable partner for data acquisition challenges in the automotive industry. Our equipment certainly ensures the highest precision and the most comprehensive measurement data. Therefore, DEWETRON provides you the necessary information for objective decision making. We support the entire automotive sector. Consequently, no matter if you are concerned with e-mobility, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), vehicle dynamics or durability tests, we will provide you the right automotive testing solutions. In addition to that, we are proud to announce that all DEWETRON systems comply with the standards of EURO NCAP and NHTSA for assessment programs.

E-Mobility

Battery electric vehicles are becoming more and more common on our roads and in our lives. Do you work in this emerging sector? Then DEWETRON is your competent partner to analyze, test and verify e-bikes, e-scooters and other electric vehicles. DEWETRON’s automotive testing solutions are the perfect option – whether you work with real drive tests or on a test bench. Due to the features of the power option of our DEWETRON measurement software OXYGEN which often finds use in the analysis of electrical power grids, DEWETRON certainly provides the ideal equipment for your automotive testing solution. Our systems allow you to perform measurements on either combustion engines or pure electrical engines. However, you can also connect them in parallel. As a result, DEWETRON automotive testing solutions are the perfect tool for testing hybrid vehicles as well as sheer electric vehicles.

Some highlights: analysis of both, electrical and combustion engines at the same time; isolated wide range voltage and current modules (300 mV…1 kV); synchronous acquisition of vehicle bus data via CAN or FlexRay; online power and efficiency calculation; high bandwidth up to 2 MHz; acquisition rate up to 10 MS/s/ch synchronous

ADVANCED DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS (ADAS)

Every modern vehicle is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). One of the challenges of ADAS testing is to precisely measure the relative position and velocity between vehicles when testing longitudinal control systems. Furthermore, it is difficult to track the position of the car during the testing of lateral control systems. Consequently, DEWETRON developed the right tools. Our automotive testing solutions offer one hardware for all of your ADAS tests. Due to the modularity of our TRION modules, you can reconfigure your hardware for any measurement task you can imagine within a short period of time. In addition to that, you get perfect synchronization of all signal sources from several cars or other moving objects with only one of our automotive testing solutions.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

DEWETRON’s automotive testing solutions enable the measurement of the relative position and velocity between moving objects (sheer in / out maneuvers). Furthermore, perfect synchronization for the gaining of high-quality measurement data becomes easy.
Measured signals: relative distance between the vehicles; absolute and relative velocity; longitudinal acceleration; longitudinal deceleration; moment of acoustic; optic and/or haptic warning; lateral deviation

Autonomous Emergency Break (AEB)

According to Euro NCAP standards, AEB tests require relative measurements to a virtual target vehicle (balloon car). Due to potentially strong collisions, the target vehicles cannot carry any equipment apart from an IMU. In combination with our OXYGEN software, you receive a powerful tool for the precise determination of the absolute position. In addition to that, driving robots facilitate to control the longitudinal and lateral movements of the vehicles during the tests. DEWETRON’s mixed-signal approach allows to acquire synchronized input signals from various sources. As a result, the data becomes very accurate and comparable.

Forwarding Collision Warning (FCW)

The main goal of FCW tests is to measure the exact point in time when the driver is warned of an imminent crash. Therefore, it is possible to determine, whether the acoustic/haptic warning is triggered as soon as it is available on the CAN bus. In addition to that, DEWETRON’s automotive testing solutions for FCW comply with the NHTSA requirements and specifications. This is a requirement for an FCW approval in the US.
Measured signals: position/trajectory of both vehicles; speed of both vehicles; yaw-rate of both vehicles; deceleration of POV; acoustic/optical warning signal; request of warning signal

Lane Support

For tests of lateral control systems such as lane departure warnings or lane-keeping assistants (LDW/LKA), the measurement system needs to calculate the relative position, angle and velocity between the vehicle and stationary objects, such as lines, curbs or traffic signs. Moreover, the acquisition of synchronized video data is important for such tests.
Measured signals: distance to side/middle line or road edge; steering angle, moment and velocity; lateral acceleration; yaw rate; moment of acoustic, optic and/or haptic warning; driver view (video)

VEHICLE DYNAMICS TESTING

Many maneuvers have been standardized to assess the ride and handling capabilities of a vehicle. DEWETRON’s automotive testing solutions are well established in vehicle dynamics measurements because of their ease of use, their flexibility and their compatibility with any sensor available. In addition to that, a visualization of the entire movement of the vehicle with all its lines and cones, combined with graphs and videos is available in our OXYGEN software. Consequently, your data results become even more comprehensive.

Some highlights: tight integration of IMUs for precise measurement of GPS position, accelerations and angles; interface to Kistler® wheel force transducers (RoaDyn®); synchronous acquisition of vehicle bus data via CAN or CAN-FD

Durability Testing

Durability or road load data tests are typically measurements with high-channel count. Therefore, they require scalable hardware. In addition to that, powerful software features are necessary to monitor and process the signal of hundreds of channels simultaneously. Consequently, DEWETRON’s measurement software OXYGEN is the perfect supplement to your automotive testing solutions. Since real test drive data is often replayed on test benches to simulate material fatigue during the vehicle lifecycle, the analog output of the conditioned sensor signals is essential.

Some highlights: tight integration of IMUs for precise measurement of GPS position, accelerations and angles; interface to Kistler® wheel force transducers (RoaDyn®); synchronous acquisition of vehicle bus data via CAN or CAN-FD; connectivity to test rig with the output of conditioned sensor signals; TEDS support and sensor data base; offline setup; online plausibility monitoring (overload indicators, simultaneous sensor balancing, amplifier-zero, and shunt calibration check)
